| ESAA Selections: 
  The following seven athletes have been 
  selected to represent their counties in the ESAA Championships at 
  Alexander Stadium, Birmingham, next month: Greater Manchester - :  
  Matthew Crehan. Heather Drillingcourt. Merseyside:-  
  John Ashcroft, Michael Causer, Matthew Stirling, Kathryn Sumner and Patricia

      23 young athletes turned up at the fantastic venue of Sportcity for the 
      3rd young athletes league.   
    Due to the lack of athletes we were not able to fill all events but those 
    who did turn up achieve between them 15 new pbs and finished 3rd team 
    overall 
    Thanks to all athletes and officials who spent the day in the sun and lets 
    try for a better turn out on the 18th July at Wavertree.

    Trafford Grand Prix 
  Meeting 15 June 2010. Another successful evening at Trafford saw nine athletes attending, with 8 pbs, John Ashcroft (returning from elbow injury!!) 800m in 2.01.31, Mathew Crehan 1500m in 3.56.96 PB, Thaddeus Anim Somuah, Steve Clague 800m in 2.07.49 PB, Dave Griffiths 800m in
2.11.50 pb and Javelin in 39.47 pb, Matty Shirling 1500m in 4.14.0 pb and now fourth on the UK rankings, Jamie Webb 1500m in 4.32.67 pb and Jamie White 300m in 9.44.13 PB and Nathan Brown 800m in 2.09.96 pb. Well done to all and full results can be found at: Results Record Breaking Weekend: Taylor Caton-Hand broke the club's U15 
    discus record with 27.55 at Bebington. Matthew Crehan 
    finished third in the Northern U20 Championship at SportCity. 
    Thaddeus Anim-Somuah reached the final of the senior 100m (11.19) 
    and 200m (22.72) with a 22.3 in his heat. Heather Drillingcourt won 
    the Greater Manchester Schools 100m title and Bethany Baxter 
    reached the 200 final, finishing fifth in 28.2 having recorded 
    28.0 in her heat. On Thursday Dave Forrester finished two 
    places shy of a place in the NCAA Championship 1500m final at 
    Eugene, Oregon in a time of 3.47.3. The previous night Celia 
    Schroeder was third over 60 female at the Birkenhead Park 5
    miles race. Dorothy Fairhurst also ran finishing in 48.47. 
    In the Cheshire Schools' event Shelby Jack finished fourth 
    in her heat in 13.9. 
    Merseyside 
    Schools Championships at Bebington 12 June: The Merseyside Schools competition was held at Bebington and there were some excellent performances, 22 athletes attended from the Club with 6 first places, 9 second places and 4 3rd places.
Selection for the Merseyside team to attend the English Schools on July 9th was made on the 13th and several athletes have been selected,
they will be notified through their Schools.  Thanks to everybody who turned up on the day and took part Full results at: Results Lake District
