The club has entered one senior men's team for the 12 stage road relay at Heaton Park, Manchester and two ladies' teams of six at the same event which starts at 11.30.am.on Saturday 2 April 2005.

St Helens-Sutton Road Race: 2006:

Following the decision of the London Marathon Company to hijack the date of our own road race the club has decided to move the date in 2006 to the final Sunday in March (the first day of daylight saving). Hopefully this will lead to an increase in numbers, including our own club members who want to warm up for the Northern Road Relays which traditionally takes place on the first weekend in April. There is the possibility too that members of other clubs will see the race as a good opportunity to sharpen up for the road racing season. The date has been applied for but will remain provisional until the impact of the changes in UK Athletics, scheduled for later in the year, have taken place. Unfortunately, as the inter-counties cross country races have been moved back to the second week in March, there is no guarantee that our provisional date will be free. Watch this space.

2006 Track and Field Fixture Lists:

Lists for each of the age groups have now been completed and will be placed on the notice board before the end of the month. In addition, they will be circulated via coaches and available on club nights.

Team Selection:

Team selection, as in previous years, will be based on certain basic principles. (1) availability; (2) form; and (3) flexibility. If you wish to be considered for selection please ensure we have details of your availability and your performances (coaches' assessments will also be taken into account).
