Christmas Round Up
Ian White has disappeared with the Christmas Handicap results so we'll have to wait a bit longer for those to appear but on the same day (18 December) there was success for our high jumpers at the indoor meeting held at Sport City. Open Indoor Meeting - Sheffield 10 December.
A trio of athletes made an impact at Sheffield. Luke Williams won the 200 final in a personal best time of 25.39. Luke was fourth in the long jump with 4.83 but, having been off school with flu all week, eventually succumbed to the inevitable and ran 8.26 in the 60m. An excellent afternoon nontheless.
Steve Moran was pleased with third place in the 300m (38.81) in his first senior competition which leaves him with a target of 13 secs for the final 100m to get a sub 52 time for the 400m in the summer. Steve was fourth in the 60m in a personal best 7.68.
Andy McDonagh set a new club Under 17 record of 38.75 for fourth place in his heat of the 300 and seems more than likely to improve on that during the summer.

This may be the end of the League season but in four weeks it's the start of the championship season and, provided everyone can keep fit and train hard, we could have some good results in 2006. For those interested in acquiring points in the internal club competition the first Cheshire League match takes place at Macclesfield on Sunday.
